Classes are held at the Center for Performing Arts (3754 Pleasant Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55409)
Led by experienced instructors and dancers, Wattanak Dance Troupe classes offer students the opportunity to develop their skills in Cambodian Classical and Folk dance. Rooted in the preservation and continuation of these traditions, our training emphasizes technique, discipline, musicality, and artistic growth while fostering a deeper connection to the dance, history, and community. Through regular training and repertoire passed down through generations, students build a strong foundation while helping carry these traditions forward.
Wattanak Dance Troupe welcomes students ages 12 and up, from beginners to experienced dancers. No previous experience is required.
Sacred Threads
Sacred Threads is a brand-new offering from Wattanak Dance Troupe exploring the artistry, craftsmanship, and traditions behind Cambodian dance costumes. This hands-on class will give students and community members an opportunity to learn more about the garments, accessories, and dressing practices that help bring Cambodian dance to life.
Each session may focus on a different aspect of costume, from learning how pieces are worn and prepared to understanding their role in dance and storytelling. We hope to offer Sacred Threads as an ongoing, possibly monthly class, with each gathering providing a new opportunity to learn, create, and connect with the traditions behind the costumes.
This program is currently in development, so stay tuned for upcoming dates, class details, and registration information. We’re excited to introduce this new space for learning and sharing the many threads that connect costume, movement, history, and community.
We offer classes every Sunday, with each class focusing on a different repertoire:
9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Robam Rous (Living Dance)
Premier Ensemble Rehearsals are held Fridays from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
